I LOVE SAP

In 1999, I developed a small billing software for M/S Nippon Audiotronix Ltd. using third Generation technology, Clipper 5.x and DBF files as back end. It's main purpose was to generate invoice with barcode-printing on it for M/s Maruti Udyog Ltd as it was not entertaining any invoice without barcode.

During year 2002-03, with the increase in the volume of the sales and no of customers, M/s Nippon Audiotronix Limited instructed me to redesign the the above billing software and develop it using windows GUI.

I developed the billing software with maximum possible features. It was armed with a number of features like many valuable queries, reports, generation of text files for M/s Maruti Udyog Limited, uploading of text files from purchase order for auto-generation of invoices etc. It was widely appreciated in the company for its accuracy,  reliability and fast data-processing.

During year 2004-05, again I redesigned the database to accommodate some legal compliances as well as some extra modules/features like payment collection, pricing of parts and supplementary invoicing.

During the time of implementation, I felt the weakness of my software designing and development concept. I felt as if my application software is not complete, it might not give 100 % accuracy !! I felt that it might explode, if tomorrow, would I add more modules or more features.  It made me to find out something robust technology, which can withhold the designing-garbage threat due to any expansion of the software.

I am lucky, SAP came forward to rescue me. It happens, when I was reading an article in one leading Magazine about SAP. Although, I heard about ERP concept and different ERP Systems like SAP, PeopleSoft, OracleFinance etc. but the article broaden my knowledge of SAP, its features and why it is so popular in the ERP world.

I decided to learn SAP.

As I am with Financial Background, my counselor advised me to go for FICO module. My programming background enabled me to learn ABAP/4 the programming language of SAP on my own. Finally the technical knowledge (ABAP/4) and functional skill (FICO) made me to fall in love with SAP.

Thereafter, I am thinking SAP, breathing SAP, sleeping SAP, eating SAP... as if SAP is flowing in my blood, mind and spirit. I prefer to share my development experiences and put something about SAP in my webpage, hoping it will help me in broadening my knowledge as well as helping the people who are eager to know SAP like me. I hope my effort may help some (even at least one) people in this world.

Thanks and regards !!!
